I’ve been a lifelong cyclist and I volunteer at a local self-help bike repair shop. In this blog, I combine an interest in history with my passion for the bicycle. I write about my cycling tours with an eye for history and follow early wheelwomen and wheelmen on their rides. I want to explore how the bike became what it is today and how the past shapes cycling in our everyday lives.

Clio, n. — /ˈklʌɪəʊ/ — The Muse of history.Cyclist, n. — /ˈsʌɪklɪst/ — One who rides a cycle or practises cycling.
